Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam!

Arrival at Noi Bai International airport in Hanoi...

 You'll be welcomed by our representative and transfer to your downtown hotel

Day 2: Hanoi street food tour

• Start the day with a delish breakfast followed by some downtime!

• At 11:00 AM, embark on a walking street food tour in Hanoi’s Old Quarter

• Your English-speaking local guide will give you an insight into the intricacies and traditions of Vietnamese food culture

Tempt your taste buds with the famed Hanoi dishes at local eateries

• Observe how little has changed since Hanoi was founded over 1000 years ago!

• Afterwards, you are free to continue exploring the area on your own or your guide will assist you with directions or a taxi back to your hotel

Day 3: Highlights of Hanoi

Spend the day discovering essential sites around the city with a local guide

• Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, the Mausoleum, the Presidential PalaceHo Chi Minh Museum and the Temple of Literature

• Grab lunch at a local restaurant (included)

• Continue to the Museum of Ethnology and its display of life-size structures dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority peoples

• Finish strong with a 1 hour cyclo ride through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter

• In the evening, witness a traditional performance of the Vietnamese water puppets!

Day 4: Bai Tu Long Bay cruise

• You will be picked up in the morning for a scenic drive to Bai Tu Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage area (3h30)

Meet the crew and other passengers upon boarding the traditional wooden junk

• Enjoy a delicious lunch while the boat heads towards the secluded islands

Visit an ancient limestone cave and if the weather permits, go sea kayaking and swimming

• Return to the junk for a sunsetdrink and watch the sunset while waiting for a freshly prepared seafood dinner

• Overnight on a cruise boat on Bai Tu Long Bay

Day 5: Bai Tu Long Bay & Hoi An

• Greet the day with an early morning swim (weather permitting), followed by breakfast

Visit a floating fishing village by a rustic row-boat, meet the locals and stop at a pearl farm

Cruise back to the main harbor for the 4 hour drive to Hanoi airport

• Board your flight to Danang

• On arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An

Day 6: Explore Hoi An 

• Start with a half day tour of Hoi An

• Meander down tiny streets studded with houses influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures

• Visit the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, the Japanese Covered Bridge, the museum and a colorful local market

• Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, how about some retail therapy?

Day 7: A day of leisure in Hoi An

• Apart from exploring Hoi An, consider a visit to Vietnam's grandest Cham ruins at My Son

• Or, attend a cooking class at a riverside restaurant

• If group activities are your thing, join other travelers on a farming and fishing life excursion

• For early risers, why not capture the real Hoi An by joining a 4-hour photography tour led by a local expat expert?

• If you want to go below, hop on a boat to Cu Lao Cham Island to explore coral reefs and marine life (March - September)

Day 8: The road to Hue

• Enjoy a free morning in Hoi An

• Later, drive North to the Royal City of Hue

• Visit either the ChamMuseum in the city centre, or the famous Marble Mountain

• Take in the view of the coast and Danang from the top of the Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Clouds)

Day 9: Imperial Citadel & Royal Tombs

• Spend the full day exploring the Imperial Cityof Hue

• Start with the Citadel and the former ImperialPalace

• Visit the Dong Ba market to learn about local produce and specialties of Hue

• Sit down for lunch in a local restaurant

• In the afternoon, cruise the Perfume River by a dragon boat to serene Thien Mu Pagoda

• Finish the day with a visit to the majestic Royal Tomb of King Ming Mang or King Khai Dinh

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi tunnels

• Drive to Phu Bai airport in Hue for an afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City

• You will be met by a local guide for a drive to Cu Chi Tunnels (1h)

• After lunch at a riverside restaurant, visit the amazing network of underground tunnels

• Return to Ho Chi Minh City

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City Tour

• Enjoy a guided city tour starting with the WarRemnants Museum - a real eye-opener!

• Continue to the ReunificationPalace, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post office

• Continue through the back streets of Chinatown near Cho Lon to observe the local daily life

• Finish the day with the Thien Hau temple and the Cholon Market

Day 12: The Mekong Delta & Can Tho

• Head South to visit the Cai Be floating market

Stop at a handicraft village and learn how rice-nets, soya sauce, cooking salt are prepared

• An optional stop can be made at local workshop where you can see how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice

• Later, explore the smaller canals by row-boat to enjoy peacefulness of the Delta

Interact with local farmers & fishermen. Learn ancestral fishing techniques!

• The trip today also takes in some gentle cycling along village paths

• The cruise will end at Vinh Long city, where you will drive to Can Tho for an overnight stay

Day 13: Cai Rang Floating Market & Ho Chi Minh City

• Set off on a half hour boat cruise to the vibrant Cai Rang floating market

• Continue down a small canal to visit a fruit garden

Return to Can Tho while observing the rural life and the lush vegetation along the riverbanks

Drive to Ho Chi Minh City with lunch en-route
