The artists

Enaam Ahmed is one of the most well-known contemporary artists that you may hear about during your trip to Oman.

A famous painter, she is also recognised for her talents as a designer and decorator. Maha Al-Lamki is also a master artist. Her oil paintings have been shown around the world and she too is a talented interior designer.

Further proof that the Sultanate of Oman is prolific in visual artists, the celebrity of Hassan Meer extends far beyond the national borders. His works have been exposed around the world and you may have admired them at the Arab World Institute in Paris.

Mahboob Moosa is the most well-known of the few film directors in Oman. After training in Los Angeles and then a few years working in the Egyptian cinema, he returned to Oman, where he works on documentaries and series. Because of the absence of producers, he has not yet fulfilled his dream of making a 100% Omani film.

The others

Riyadh al-Balushi is something like the king of the web in the Sultanate of Oman. In addition to his post as adviser to the Ministry of Legal Affairs, he has several internet sites in which he writes on various subjects, such as tourism or cuisine in his country.

Ali Al-Habsi is without a doubt the only Omani footballer to exercise his talents as goalkeeper in Europe. After a few years in Norway, he joined the Premier League championship, regarded as the best in the world. While he currently plays for Wigan, he possesses other titles such as best goalkeeper of the Championship of Norway and even an FA cup with Bolton in 2013.

Hamed al-Wahaibi is known for his driving skills. Every year during the World Rally Championship he manages to obtain some good results and sometimes finishes on the podium.
