Day 1: Welcome to Corsica

Upon arrival at the airport, pick up your rental car. A 2-hour drive takes you passed the pretty village of Petreto-Bicchisano nestling at the foot of the mountain San Petru, and Aullène, a shepherd village on the bank of the river Chiuvonu, before reaching your guesthouse in Serra-di-Scopamène (situated in the region of Alta Rocca)

Day 2: “the most Corsican of all Corsican cities“

Sartène, “the most Corsican of all Corsican cities“ offers a stunning panoramic view from the Gulf of Valinco to the massif of the Aiguilles de Bavella. Take a stroll through the picturesque narrow alleys and make a stop in one of the many shops offering local delicatessen. Most shops offer tastings, why not treat yourself? One of the city’s most interesting museums is the “A Casa di Roccapina” offering exhibitions, shows and interactive activities. Audio-guides in English and many other languages will be at your disposal.

Day 3: Hiking in the Mountains

Hike through one of the most fascinating mountain landscapes Corsica has to offer. Via the impressive Col de Bavella mountain pass, you will get right into the heart of the National Park. Craggy peaks, mighty cliffs and wind-bent pine trees characterise the landscape.

After a walk through the pinewood of Lariccio, you will reach the “Trou de la Bombe”, a naturally formed hole of 8m in the ridge of the Paliri Mountains offering a breathtakingly beautiful view of the massif and the western slope.

Day 4: The Natural Region of Alta Rocca via the Costa Serena

After a drive up to the Col de Bavella mountain pass, and then downhill in direction of the Eastern Coast via the Solenzara Valley you will reach the Etang d’Urbino lagoon. There you may want to take a lunch break in the delicious fish and sea food restaurant La Ferme d’Urbino, built into the water on stilts amid unique idyllic scenery.  From there it is not far to Cervione, once the temporary capital of Corsica in 1736. The quaint Corsican village is perched on the mountain and offers a stunning view over a section of the Costa Verde, the plain, and the wide blue sea. On a beautiful day you can even catch a glimpse of the famous island of Montecristo. Take a walk along the cliff line, and the full beauty will unfold before your eyes. To learn more about Corsican culture and traditions, stop at the Adecec Ethnology museum

Day 6: Historic Bastia

Take a stroll through the historic city of Bastia and immerse yourself in the easy-going Mediterranean ambiance. Browse the abundant colourful markets, and soak up the cheerful atmosphere of a typical lively Corsican market. The stalls abound with appetising, mostly traditionally produced goods. Cheese, fish, sea food, cold cuts, salami, honey, olives, wine and many other regional delicacies. The Musée de Bastia offers an entertaining and informative journey through the history of the city.

Day 7: Private Tour of the "Cascade des Anglais"

Your mountain guide will take you to a unique glacial valley along an ancient path formerly used for the seasonal movement of livestock, you will reach a magical spot dozing on the shore of a mountain torrent shaded by a large beech forest – the ideal moment for a break and a refreshing dip in the Cascade! Once rested, you will continue to the pass Col de Vizzavona via the famous GR20 path. Throughout the tour you'll learn about the untouched flora and fauna, as well as to the cultural heritage of the region.

Day 8: Explore Ajaccio

One of Ajaccio’s highlights is the Domaine des Milelli. The property is surrounded by a twelve-hectare, 100 years old olive grove. It's hardly surprising that Napoleon Bonaparte chose this idyllic setting for his country house. Although Bonaparte’s country house itself is not open to visitors, the property serves as a public park offering beautiful strolls. In the evening, you'll drop off you rental car at Ajaccio airport.
