Day 1: Bienvenidos to Colombia!

Day 2: Transformation tour and Bike Graffiti Tour

Meet your guide to visit one of the most dangerous neighborhoods a few years ago. During two hours, you will discover the history and transformation process of this neighborhood. Join the graffiti bike tour and cover the city by bike. See the colorful, artistic, political, and funny pieces of street art alongside your guide!

History and Transformation Tour :
Residents of the area have decided to give a different twist to their neighborhood, leaving behind their criminal past to promote and tell the story of their neighborhood through street art and graffiti. Thanks to this initiative, they have succeeded in reducing the crime rate in the Barrio Egipto by 100%.

Graffiti Bike Tour :

Day 3: Flight to beautiful Coffee Region

Transport from your hotel to Bogota airport. Approximately 30 minutes. Transport from Pereira airport to Salento. Approximately 1h. Nocturnal Wildlife Observation at a farm.

Activity description: You will start the tour at sunset. Along with your guide, a local biologist expert in reptiles and amphibians, you will discover the night life in the forest of Reserva el Cairo. You will have the opportunity to see animals such as owls, insects, scorpions, spiders, lizards, crickets and more.

Day 4: Hika La Carbonera park

Departure from Salento in Jeep Willys towards the Camino Nacional. Learn more about the region and the specificities of the famous wax palm. Rural lunch in a typical Andean Farm.

La Carbonera : 
Discover the typical countryside of the coffee region during this one-day tour from Salento to the Palmas Sanctuary. Walk through the typical landscapes of this region whose agriculture used to be dedicated to potato crops. After a first stop, you will learn more about the region and the specificities of the famous wax palm, we will be back on the road for about an 1h30 to reach the highest point of the excursion located at about 3200 mts. After a small downhill until the Carbonera, our road continues by foot for about 1h30, heading to the farm where we will have a rural lunch, typical of the Quindio region.

Day 5: Flight to Medellin and afternoon Silleta activity

Transport from Salento to the Pereira Airport. Approximately 1h. Private transport from Medellin Enrique Olaya Herrera airport to your hotel. Approximately 15 minutes. Tour to Santa Elena, to learn how to build a “Silleta”.

Building a “Silleta” : 
In the afternoon, transport to Santa Elena, birthplace of the ornate flower arrangements called “silletas” that are the cornerstone of the Flower Festival or Feria de Las Flores in Medellin. You will be able to watch the construction process and participate in it if you wish to.

Day 6: A very authentic way to discover Medellin!

Visit the Caminos Foundation in Bello Oriente neighborhood. Get to know more about the community and the foundation that works with the children. Street Food Experience in Medellin.

Caminos Foundation : 
Learn about the function as a community center of the Caminos Foundation. You can join one of our activities that they offer to the children, a football match, music class, ‘My Book Buddy’ or you can assist in the English class. At the activity you will meet the children of the neighborhood, all of the children are very curious.. You will experience the enthusiasm of the children joining the activities.

 Street Food Experience : 
Medellín offers the visitor a huge gastronomic variety of typical Colombian food. Explore the hustle and bustle of the city centre of Medellín on a unique culinary walking tour and try the most emblematic street-food of the region and Colombia. Try delicious “Empanadas” and “Buñuelos” or “Arepa” filled with homemade cottage cheese and taste the sweetness of Colombian desserts.

Day 7: On our way to Palomino

Private transport from your hotel to Medellin Jose Maria Cordoba airport. Approximately 1h. Transport from Santa Marta airport to Palomino. Approximately 2h. Free afternoon to enjoy the beaches in front of your hotel.

Day 8: Cacao Organic Farm

The opportunity to visit cocora plantation and learn about its process. Learn about the agricultural practices. Share valuable memories with the community.

 Coffee Organic Farm : 
This will be an opportunity to observe different medicinal plants and learn about their traditional uses. You will also observe many Colombian fruit trees (carambola, guanabana, mangoes, lemon mandarins, guama, wild cocoa...). You will then cross the cocoa plantation, an opportunity to learn everything about the methods of growing cocoa trees and the famous pod. Traditional lunch at the farm then return to Buritaca.

Day 9: Transport to Colorful Cartagena

Private transport from Palomino to Cartagena. Approximately 5h45. Free afternoon to walk around the walled main center.

Day 10: Fishing Tour

Get to know La Boquilla, a fishing village where an Afro-Cartagenian community lives. The community will share with you their fishing techniques. Typical lunch.

Fishing Tour in La Boquilla :
You will depart early from your hotel to la Boquilla, a fishing village where an Afro-Cartagenian community lives. There, local fishermen will share with you their fishing techniques including how to catch crabs and how to throw nets. Then you will discover the secrets of Caribbean cuisine and learn how to cook fish and crabs with coconut rice. Return to Cartagena at the beginning of the afternoon.
