Bogotá was great as were the activities, Monserat and bike tour. The drives to Villa de Leiva and Barichara has some stunning scenery and the villages were beautiful. The hotel in pereira was was comfortable with a great garden jacuzzi! Medellin felt very international and the trips from there were also really good plus the city tour.
Best parts:
I enjoyed the whole trip. Real highlights would be Medellín, the coffee tour in Salamina and Barichara.
Worst parts:
I didn’t enjoy Cartagena

We chose Colombia because our two adopted children are from there. They had not been back since we first adopted them, and we wanted to let them see this amazing place they are from. We traveled to Bogota, Monteria, and back to Bogota. We met biological family and visited our Compassion kids during our time in Monteria.
Best parts:
I loved it all! The agent was very helpful the entire process from the submission of our request for the trip to the end of the trip. We had to make several changes during the planning phases and even after we booked the trip, and she took care of us the entire time and kept us in the loop on everything. I was so appreciative! The hotel in Bogota was perfect for us. It was in a location where we could walk to everything. For Monteria, we were placed in the hotel we requested. Our travel agent, Elisabeth, even worked together with a family member of ours in Monteria to have the family member surprise us at the airport! What a fun treat for us! My kids loved it! The best part though was that our travel agent was also our translator. She joined us on a beautiful expedition to find our girls' biological family in the middle of nowhere! She made it possible for us to communicate with aunts, uncles, cousins, and their grandpa for the first time. The most meaningful thing was when she translated for us when we met their birth mother. We needed to communicate clearly during that time, and Elisabeth made that possible. Elisabeth became more than a friend during our time with her; she will always be considered a part of our family. You can't share something so personal like that and not feel close!
Worst parts:
The only snag we hit was when we first got to Bogota. The transfer didn't have the necessary paperwork, and we ended up having to take taxis to the hotel. The agency was extremely apologetic and made sure we were never alone and taken care of the entire time. They handled it so professionally!

Colombia was a great country and the people are mainly very friendly and smiling. Many locals only speak Spanish, but that is charming in itself nowadays, and the weather was generally cooler than I had anticipated until we reached Medellin and the Caribbean coast. We loved the Spanish colonial architecture in Vilaa de Leyva, Barichara and Guatape, the scenery in the coffee region / Cocora Valley, did not mind the long road journeys as the Andes scenery was spectacular, and the Punta Faro hotel on Mucura island was blissful.
Best parts:
Well organised trip around Colombia and thanks so much to Jeanne for orchestrating the tour - almost every pick-up and time was perfect, the guides mainly spoke good English and were enthusiastic / knowledgeable, and the hotels were perfect for our needs.
Worst parts:
one guide in Pereira who was poor at English, two missed pick-ups at Cartagena, and the annoyance that the direct flight with Avianca direct from Medellin to Cartagena was cancelled 10 days before we travelled, meaning the trip needed 2 flights via Bogota. Traffic chaos in Bogota was not good either.

Columbia is a beautiful country. It was clean, the people friendly, food was excellent and prices cheap. The people were very proud of their country and it showed. We felt safe at at times and came home with over 1000 photos to remember the trip by.
Best parts:
The people, services and equipment was surprisingly good. Van drivers on time. Bike guide in Bogata was wonderful in his knowledge and enthusiasm. Bike, para sail and rafting out of Barachara was best part of trip
Worst parts:
The hotel in Bogata was absolutely horrible as our room above street and the noise kept us up for two nights. The people were nice and breakfast good but street noise was terrible. A room next to an airport runway would be better than that Translator in Barachara had very limited english vocabulary so guides skill and knowledge was not communicated

We planned a visit that was much too short and only had time to visit Bogata and Villa de Leyva. In Bogata, we loved the big attractions: Gold Museum and the Botero Museum and the smaller attractions of many local restaurants, neighborhoods and markets. We strongly recommend visiting the Salt Cathedral and Villa de Leyva and a horseback ride in the mountain foothills. As our trip was too short, we plan to visit again soon to learn about and enjoy other cities and the coffee area.
Best parts:
We love Columbia. We appreciated many things : the people, the culture, the museums, mountains, cathedrals, history and food. We stayed in the historic district of La Candelaria and could walk to where we planned to visit. Our accommodations were small, charming, well located with helpful staffs. The American dollar goes a long way. Our tour guides were always on time, well informed and interesting. They went out of their way to introduce us to both small and big pleasures and features. Our trip was very short, allowing us to visit only Bogota and Villa de Leyva. We found these cities interesting and recommend them to future visitors
Worst parts:
The car traffic, as expected, is a problem in Bogota and demands extra time when planning to visit sites outside hotel areas When visited Guatavita, the guide spoke Spanish and would not allow us to separate from the large group. We do not recommend this visit to English speaking tourists ***I will send pictures separately

Colombia has a rich and diverse history and culture which we discovered form our travelling from Bogota and the experiencing the Amazon with a;ll its wildlife and indigenous people. We enjoyed the graffiti bike tour and markets in Bogota along with the restaurants and through the Gold Museum along with the Museum Botero truly world class experiences. We both thoroughly enjoyed Villa de Leyva and Baricharra where the hotels and the different excursions were great fun. Villa Nora near Armenia was a real delight and the hosts truly a delight - a fabulous and restful stop with wonderful bird watching in the garden. I would have much preferred 3 nights in Villa instead of doing 2 nights and then 1 night in Salento (see above comments). Barlovento was a beautiful place, despite the recent additional development there where we met some very interesting travellers. We could have done with an extra night there to enjoy the surroundings - even with Tayrona Park closed for February ! Minca was a good option and we enjoyed the waterfalls and pools for a refreshing swim and had a brilliant Paella at Antonio's restaurant. The drive to Carthagena was long - it took us 6 hours - probably because the road works around Carthagena were so bad and it was a Saturday. Ananda Hotel was a beautiful hotel with great rooms and friendly staff and well located. We enjoyed Carthagena very much - particularly the old town and Getsemani. All the internal flights worked very well and Avian in particular were great in ensuring all our luggage arrived at our final destinations.
Best parts:
We loved the country, people and history and travelling all the different parts of Colombia to experience these. The people were very welcoming and positive about our travels in their country.
Worst parts:
There was one unnecessary additional 1 night stop in Salento that for us and our age of traveller meant packing up and staying in what is essentially a back packers town when we could have easily stayed at Villa Nora for an extra night and done the Corcora Valley walk and then the airport transfer the next day. The car / taxi that picked us up at Santa Marta airport and transferred us to Balovento was dangerous - the fuel filter was blocking and we stopped a number of times on that busy highway - not very safe ! We expect better vehicles for our bigger transfers.

Very professional and organised. Katherine was great and very responsive to all our requests. Very trusted and would recommend others to use Evaneos. Loved the tour in the coffee region in Salento and also the tour in Medellin both guides were very informative. The transfers arranged were always timely and professional. We had real peace of mind with the arrangements Katherine had made and we knew that we could relax and enjoy the trip. We would recommend without any hesitation.
Best parts:
Everything being organised for us as requested and all going to plan. It was great to be able to relax and know that we had a fantastic agenda and we could cover so much ground that would not have been possible if we were organising everything ourselves. Katherine was extremely flexible and helpful with trips and transport. Highlights include tours in Medellin and also the coffee tour in Salento.
Worst parts:
Having times added to the itinerary so it was all in one place rather than a different document - it's a small point. Perhaps also highlight where we had requested a trip that may have involved a little bit of back tracking i.e. The Santa Rosa thermals were on the way to Medellin but we didn't realise this and travelled there and back the day before our transfer to Medellin we would have stayed closer to the thermals to reduce travel time. We also found the boat trip to Playa Crystal on Christmas Day to be more of an adrenaline boat trip than we expected and it may be wise to let individuals know the sea can be quite rough and the trip is not for the faint hearted we were genuinely scared that said the beach was beautiful

We were picked up in Medellin, to go to the coffee region. This driver got lost and was a bit reckless. The hotel was great, relaxing and with history. The tours there where excellent. The guides full of knowledge, nice, great conversations. The guide for the Cocora Valley took us to try fruits, to a good restaurant for lunch, great person (Harol). And the coffee tour at the Hacienda was wonderful. We went to Popayan - this driver was great, careful and very nice. Maria, our guide knew a lot about the city and was very accommodating. Our driver to San Agustin was good but tried to sell us different tours which wasn't very nice. San Agustin we really liked Olga and Pacho. And the driver Orlando helped us with all our questions! All the hotels were wonderful. Katherine did the trip exactly as we wanted, with nice hotels, very good and different guides and free time! And was very good about follow up. All the professional were on time and knew we where coming. I recommend the company absolutely. Thank you.
Best parts:
Guides were wonderful. The trip was tailored exactly as we wanted.
Worst parts:
Drivers - one got lost and took us an extra 1h30 / 2h to get us where we needed to go. The other tried to sell us diferent tours.

We did a nice long trip starting in Bogota and finishing in Cartagena. I would say the highlights are many but Salento and Cocora Valley and Guatape were my favorites. Villa Leyva for my girls because they went horse back riding but we had many great excursions and were up and about all the time. There is great variations and possibilities in this country. From cooler Bogota to a hot and tropical Cartagena
Best parts:
In my opinion this is the only way to visit Colombia. We had the most wonderful family trip 25 days and each day was again a great one. It all started with a wonderful agent being Sylvian. He custom made our trip with young kids in mind and really all his suggestions were all great . When we arrived in Medellin he came out to great and meet us. We wanted to take him out for diner and spent more time to get to know this wonderful person but unfortunately he was very short of time. All our trips and taxi's arrived right on time and except for one or to ( all in cartagena btw) were very nice, knowledgeable and kindhearted people. We made many friends. i would recommend this tour operator HIGHLY. Even when we had to change our plans we contacted them true what's app and they responded swiftly. i think that speaking Spanish would help alot. I picked most of our hotels but the ones and suggestions provided by the travel agent were really great!
Worst parts:
Especially in Cartagena the MarSol transportation was rude and not what we have expected

Was a wonderful combination of adventure, nature, culture, and different environments. It exposed me to some of the many various sides to Colombia that I simply was not aware of, and this gave me a great insight into the country. The travel agent Sylvain was tremendous from the moment I contacted the company. He was enthusiastic, interested, and was always willing to be flexible to my many requests. He put me at ease, which in turn then allowed me to relax and enjoy the trip. Really great work - could not have asked for more from Sylvain.
Best parts:
The diversity of Colombia, and the energy of the people was sensational.
Worst parts:
Really not much, probably the Aluna Hotel in Santa Marta.
