Things to know before traveling to Oceania

Here are a few tips to bear in mind when traveling to Oceana for the first time:

  • First thing’s first, Oceania, and the countries within it are huge. Whilst this means that there is so much to explore, it also means that getting from a to b can take time. Self-drive trips are so popular for exactly this reason, since you can cover a huge area on your own schedule. If this isn’t for you, look into flying, but you’ll have to book tickets in advance to avoid paying high prices.
  • One of the first things that travelers notice when they arrive in Oceania is that prices can be very expensive. Food, drink and general if here comes at a premium and so this isn’t the destination for a vacation on a budget.
  • There is an upside to the expensive costs here, however, and that is that tipping is not expected apart from in exceptional circumstances, since waiters, waitresses and other workers are paid at a very high rate.
  • There is a hole in the ozone layer in this part of the world and for this reason, the sun here is incredibly powerful. Whilst this is the secret to the bronzed skin of most Aussies, it also means that the sun can be dangerous. Make sure you wear SPF and don’t stay in the direct mid sun for too long.
  • Lastly, Oceania has a fearsome reputation in terms of dangerous animals. Don’t let the animals scare you away from one of the most beautiful parts of the world, after all, millions of people live here. However, it is still advisable to be aware that some animals should be avoided and to know the protocol should you come across a dangerous animal.

Oceania's food is varied, delicious, fresh and healthy. Most traditional dishes include meat or fish and are accompanied with fresh vegetables.
