Day 1: Welcome to Bogota

Reception at the airport then a private car will take you to your hotel located in the colonial center of the Colombian capital.

Day 2: Departure for Riohacha

On your second day, you have the morning free to relax, discover the city center on foot, or enjoy a nice Colombian coffee!

​In the afternoon, you are leaving for the North Coast: a private transportation will drive you to the airport for your domestic flight from Bogota to Riohacha, the doorstep of the Guajira.Here a car will take you from the Riohacha airport to your hotel.

Day 3: Discover The Guajira

In the extreme north of Colombia and South America, you find Punta Gallinas, magnificent landscapes  of sand dunes, rocky uplands and cliffs emerging from the sea, embracing the beautiful bay of Hondita. You will depart in the morning from Riohacha in 4x4 to Uribia, Indigenous capital of the country. There our local guide will take you through Uribia, then you will have lunch and go on to a visit of the beautiful Pusheo Beach.

In the afternoon, embark on a small traditional boat to Punta Gallinas! There you will visit of Bahia Honda, Bahia Hondita and the surrounding beaches. Watching of the sunset on la Boquita beach is a really special moment! You will then have dinner in a traditional Wayuu posad, and spend the night in chinchorros (traditional hammocks).

Day 4: Get deeper into the desert

After breakfast, you will leave for the beach of Punta Aguja and to the mirador of Boquita. Enjoy the very special landscapes of this unique region!

After lunch, you will visit the lighthouse of Punta Gallinas, the northernmost point of South America, as well as the unforgettable dunes of Taroa.
Dinner and night in hammocks in a Wayuu ranch in Punta Gallinas!

Day 5: On to Palomino

Last day in the Guajira! You will make an early departure to Media Luna, and go to Puerto Bolivar by boat. There enjoy some wonderful free time on the beach of Kamaishi (Pilon de Azucar)! You will have a delicious lunch in Cabo de la Vela, and finally return to Riohacha around 5 pm. From there, you go on to Palomino!

Day 6: Palomino's paradise

Palomino’s paradise attracts a low number of tourists even though the jungle landscape is exotic, there is vast biodiversity, and the beaches are white and uninhabited. Palomino is close to the entrance to the Sierra Nevada National Park and to the Indian Reserve area. Only a hundred meters from the sea, it also enjoys the proximity to a wonderful river, allowing you to bathe both in sweet  and salted water!

Discover the surroundings of the Palomino river: from the Village of Palomino, you will take a 2-3h walk: observe the changes in the ecosystem! On the way, you will cross an indigenous village and then have lunch. In the afternoon, embark for a lovely time while tubing on the river!

Day 7: To The Tayrona Park!

This morning a private car will take you to your ecolodge near the entrance of the Tayrona Park. Then it will drive you to the Tayrona entrance. This hike in the Tayrona Park will take you to a magical place located between mountains, tropical forest and the sea. You will discover the most beautiful white sand beaches of the country and ancestral volcanic rocks in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. Today, you will discover the jungle and the beaches of Tayrona Park. You start with a hike in the tropical jungle from Cañaveral.

You then visit the exotic beaches of Arrecifes and stop at La Piscina, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Continue to the Cabo San Juan del Guia, wonderful bay of white sand surrounded by huge volcanic rocks. On the way, observe the local fauna and flora of this magnificent park with your guide. Free time to lunch in the Tayrona Park and to enjoy the beaches (Lunch not included). 

​Afterwards we will go back to the park’s entrance  passing through the park’s beautiful paths, where a vehicle is waiting for you to take you back to your ecolodge.

Day 8: On Santa Marta

You have the morning free to relax, emjoy the views on the beach and the Sierra Nevada from your ecolodge! In the afternoon you will head to Santa Marta, the oldest existing town in Colombia, in a private transport.

Day 9: Let's discover Minca

Today you leave from Santa Marta in 4x4 to the pretty village of Minca in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. You will start with a visit of an organic coffee production farm with centenary facilities! After discovering the production process of the precious liquid, you will go to the natural swimming pools of Pozo Azul for a toning bath.

Return by car to Minca for lunch (not included). Why not try a typical dish, tamal or sancocho? In the afternoon, you will discover another wonderfull waterfall (Marinca), have a city tour in Minca and observe birds in the humming bird balcony! You will return in 4x4 to Minca and Santa Marta at the end of the afternoon.

Day 10: To Cartagena, Peral of the Caribbean

Early this morning a private car will take you to Cartagena. Follow in the footsteps of famous pirates and discover the "Pearl of the Caribbean", a city rich in culture, diversity, exotic and heritage! This tour throughout the beautiful city of Cartagena will bring you back to colonial times, amidst colorful houses and lively squares.

Walking tour in the colonial neighborhoods of San Diego and Santo Domingo. You will pass by: Plaza de los Coches, plaza de la Aduana, parque Bolívar, el Museo del Oro, plaza de Santa Teresa, plaza de Santo Domingo, las murallas y Las Bóvedas.

Day 11: Learn to cook and dance in Cartagena

Today Gilles and his wife will welcome you in his restaurant to discover the caribbean cuisine. After a welcoming cocktail you will start the preparation of the different dishes. You will end up the class with a nice diner, tasting all the dishes you've been cooking.

Cali is the capital of Salsa. Nonetheless, Cartagena is a hotbed of Afro Caribbean music. Not to be missed for all Latin music lovers! The dance academy is located is the Cartagena’s historical center. This lugar is perfect to all types of salsa level. You will be seduced by the creativity and the enthusiasm of the teachers! The academy is a bar, so it’s an ideal spot to meet and share with local people after the class.

Day 12: Day on the island

Crown your trip with a day on the Caribbean islands! A private vehicle will take you to the Marina Santa Cruz harbor (Manga), where you tour leaves at 8:30 AM. The boat will go along San Fernando Fort in Boca Chica. Once arrived in the Island, you will be welcomed with a cocktail and have free time to enjoy the beach and common areas of the hotel!

You will have the opportunity to enjoy other activities such as eco-walks, kayaking in the mangroves, biking,  diving, massages, and a visit to the “Laguna Encantada”. You will be back to Cartagena around 4:00 PM. Make the most of your last night in Colombia!

Day 13: Departure

Last day! Depending of your international flight a private car will take you to the airport, for a domestic flight from Cartagena to Bogota. You will catch your international flight home.
