Chumpon is a town in south of Thailand which is the transit point for going to or returning from the island of Koh Tao.

My suggestion:
There are lots of little roads in the north and south of Chumphon which are perfect for bike rides, especially around Pathio (not far from Chumphon airport).
My review

Chumpon is a place of passage, which means there are a lot of people around the quays, but the town and its environs are usually forgotten about by the numerous tourists on their way to Koh Tao, one of the must-see places in any journey around Thailand. The town isn't very interesting. In fact, apart from the fishing port, it's about as exciting as watching paint dry...

On the other hand, look out for diving spots.I'm not talking about the beach atChumponwhich is also not very interesting(even if the fact that it is deserted is not unattractive!)but about the little islands around the bay.Mainly,KohTalu, a heavenly tear drop of earth andKohNgamNoi, with its little huts clinging to the rocks which shelter the swallows whose nests are collected to make a dish much loved by the Thais.
