Loja is considered as the third most environmentally-friendly city in the world. Located in the south of Ecuador, it can make an interesting stopover before visiting the large cities of Cuenca or Guayaquil.

My suggestion:
We were lucky todiscover Loja thanks to one of its inhabitants. As a true enthusiast of the city, he was able to show us the most beautiful places to visit in the city and the surrounding area. In fact, it is the surroundings that we recommend.
My review

Loja, this small stopover town between the two monsters of Guayaquil and Cuenca, can be an ideal base from which to discover Ecuador. Surrounded by greenery, it is no accident that it is regarded as one of the three most environmentally-friendly cities in the world. It's a place where there is a real feeling of well-being and plenty of fresh air.

There are few points of touristic interest to speak of, but we enjoyed walking in the park that pays tribute to the great cities of the world (Moscow, Paris, Mexico City...) through the facilities intended for children.

A walk along the river, among the greenery as always, will top up your batteries before you venture into the surrounding area of Loja. The small villages that surround the city really are little pieces of paradise where time seems to have come to a standstill. Catamayo, for example, is really worth a visit.
