Pronounce the 's' at the end!
Mexicans still use old Spanish that is no longer spoken in Spain. For example, a Mexican will say "carro" for a car, whilst a Spaniard will use "coche". Compared to Spanish from Spain, Mexican Spanish is easier to understand. I quickly discovered that Mexicans speak more slowly and clearly pronounce words - it's great if you want to brush up on your Spanish!
But don't panic about the language barrier - Mexicans are patient and kind. With a smile and a few gestures, you should have no problem being understood.

Here are some useful words and phrases to help your holiday in Mexico run smoothly. Don't forget to pronounce the 's' at the end of words!
