The best time to travel in Israel
There is no 'good' time to go to Israel: it all depends on the region you will be visiting, as the climate can vary a lot between the north and the south.
At a glance
You can visit Israel at any time during the year: it all depends on the region you would like to visit. The north can experience cold winters, whereas the southern climate is almost unbearable in the summer. If you want to go walking, go in March or April. Also make sure you don't travel during a Jewish festival: the country stops and you risk becoming trapped by the celebration period.
The North
Avoid travelling between December and February in the north of the country: it can be very cold there! Additionally, there can be a lot of rain during this season. Travel instead between March and November . Hire a car and explore the north of Israel and its superb landscapes.
Haïfa and its surrounding region
Haïfa and its region experience mild winters and hot summers, therefore you can travel there at any time of the year. Go and explore the beaches on the northern coast and discover a region full of history.
Jerusalem
Discover Jerusalem, a holy city housing sacred sites from Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Avoid going in July and August, which can be stifling when it's hot, and instead go during the rest of the year.
The Centre and Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv can be stifling during the months of July and August: therefore try and avoid this period. During the rest of the year, the climate there is mild and hot. You can go and discover Tel Aviv and its region whenever you like.
Walking holiday
Choose the spring to go on a walking holiday in the superb landscapes of Israel. Whatever your level or expectations, you will find a walk appropriate for you, so you can admire the flowers which line the road. Must-see: the Golan trail, which crosses the plateau of the same name.
The South
It's the warmest region in Israel: it is too hot during a part of the year, therefore it is more comfortable to explore it between the months of December and February. Go instead to the northern regions during the rest of the year.
