My trip to Morocco amazed me because I didn't think it would be such a beautiful country. You don't hear that much about the Dades Gorge, but you'd think you were in Arabian Nights. How can you not react to these landscapes? Whether they're richly decorated or modest and run down, the Dades Gorge kasbahs are dotted around in the gaps of these colorful mountains.
This little piece of paradise extends from Boumalne where you'll spend the night before going out walking.
A strange thing happened to us. Whilst I hadn't taken any water thinking that we'd stop off in a little village during one of my walks, a child around 10 came up and took us to the site of the 'Monkey's Fingers'. We refused to pay him the exorbitant amount he was asking for, and he ran off leaving us to realise that we were lost. We came across two other little groups, also lost by children. The whole day we climbed, went down walls using our jackets tied together as a rope, crossed little streams of water and scaled straight cliffs (I admit that even I didn't believe it), in order to arrive, as night fell, in a luxury hotel who called a taxi for us. The day, though certainly exhausting, now is an unforgettable memory.
