One of the oldest cities in India, located in the State of Tamil Nadu, in the southern part of the country.

My suggestion:
Discover the hand-woven silk workshops in the old town, the specialty of Kanchipuram.
My review

When arriving in Kanchipuram, you have to remember that it's one of the seven sacred cities of India. No alcohol nor cigarettes in public, and remember to always have your shoulders and legs covered.

Its ancient temples dating from the 7th and 8th centuries are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly well preserved. Don't miss the jewel of Dravidian architecture, the temple of Kailashnatha.

If you want to buy a sari while on your trip to India, you've found the right place! Kanchipuram's silk is known all around the country, and you'll find it here at any price, in any color, and for any taste.
