South Korea, a small Pacific country, is among the destinations that has managed to grow while keeping all its traditions. In this Far East country, religion and worship are everywhere. During your trip to South Korea, you’ll find yourself in the middle of some incredible scenery, standing in awe of the most beautiful Buddhist temples. Designed to blend in with the surrounding nature, these places of worship, adorned with very precise colourful patterns, will immerse you in a world filled with peace and serenity. And when you leave the temples and gardens for a few moments, you discover a view that’s just as breathtaking: between the sea and the mountains, grey rock and lush green trees, the diversity of Korean nature has untold beauty. When you visit the area of Seoul, there’s a lot to do: the shopping districts of Insadong and Apgujeong, the Folk Village, Hwaseong Fortress, there’s so much wealth to discover in a region that is home to nearly one if four Koreans today.

The best period to go to South Korea is from September to November. It's at this time of year that the weather is the most pleasant and the natural colours are the most beautiful. It's also possible to go to South Korea in winter to see it covered in snow. Though spring can be pleasant too, the hotels and tourist sites are often crammed: it's during this period that Japanese tourists choose to visit. Summer is the most touristy period, but it's sometimes stiflingly hot and it can rain heavily in July: best to avoid it.

We were pleasantly surprised by the natural beauty of South Corea. The country was basically not on our bucket list, but we had wanted to go to Wladiwostok by Transsiberian Railway and then on to Donghae by ferry. Communication was often difficult because we met very few people who spoke English, not even the receptionists at the hotels. But with the help of Google Translate and sign language, it worked. People were very helpful.

Though we visited a lot of cities and places in 15 days, for some reason all the tour guides managed everything in such smooth way that we were never in a hurry and could visit all the places in a very relaxing way. Besides it was amazing how caring the all were with our 6 year old kid. Very impressive. We felt relaxed and could really enjoyed the trip without any worry about almost anything.
