Day 1: Meet and Greet at the airport

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, meet our English-speaking local guide who will take you to your hotel before you get the rest of the day free.

In the late afternoon, board a local boat for a sunset cruise along the river.

Set off on the Tonle Sap River, which famously reverses direction each year, acting as the world's largest natural flood barrier on the Mekong River.

Cruise past the Royal Palace and the Chrouy Changvar Peninsular, encountering small villages and fishing boats along the way. 

Return to Phnom Penh after dark for a dinner at the FCC restaurant.

Day 2: Discover the Main Sites of Phnom Penh

This morning, explore the stunning Royal Palace complex, home to the Cambodian royal family, 
then enter the Throne Hall before passing the Napoleon III Pavilion.
Continue to the Silver Pagoda, then head to the nearby National Museum, home to the world's finest collection of sculpture from the Angkor period. Tour the PSE facilities (School of Hospitality and Tourism of Pour un Sourire d'Enfant) where both schooling and work/life skills are available to the children and youths as a way of escaping the impoverished conditions in which they live.

Have lunch before an afternoon visit to Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek to learn about the horrific crimes of the Khmer Rouge. You'll also visit the museum of torture, reminding visitors of the terrible atrocities that came to pass in Cambodia. We then leave town for the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Romdeng restaurant.

Day 3: The Floating Town of Kompong Luong

Travel west towards Battambang province, the "rice bowl" of Cambodia.

Pass through the busy riverside town of Kompong Chhnang and then later turn off the main road to visit the floating town of Kompong Luong.

Afterwards, enjoy a boat ride to an authentic floating community and witness a lifestyle untouched by mass tourism.

Continue to the provincial capital of Pursat for lunch, and arrive in Battambang in the late afternoon before dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Battambang's Interesting lifestyle

Travel to the Wat Koh District in a local village and learn about Cambodian rural life.

Next, board the bamboo train back towards Battambang.

After lunch in town, head to the hilltop temple of Wat Banan.

The winding road follows the Sangker River and passes many traditional wooden homes for an authentic glimpse of rural Cambodia.

Arriving at the temple, ascend to the summit and admire striking views of the surrounding plains.

Continue to Phnom Sampeau, a sacred mountain dotted with interesting pagodas and stupas.

Additionally, visit a moving memorial for Khmer Rouge victims who were thrown into one of the many caves that pepper this holy mountain.

Then return to Battambang town for the night. ​​

Day 5: On the Road to Siem Reap - Silk Farm and Project

Travel South to the provincial capital of Svay Sisophon before heading west to Siem Reap to the rural district of Puok, home to the "Artisans d'Angkor" silk weaving project.

Visit a working silk farm then transfer to your hotel for the night.

Day 6: Explore Hariharilaya Ancient Capital

Travel back in time to one of the earliest capitals in the Angkor area, Hariharilaya, now known as Roluos.

Begin with the brick temple of Lolei and continue to Preah Ko.

Finally, encounter Bakong - the earliest of the temple mountains.

In the afternoon, travel to the mighty temple of Preah Khan, or "Sacred Sword", before heading to the elegant curves of Neak Poan. 

End the day watching the sun set over the rice fields from the royal crematorium of Pre Rup - a classic view of the Cambodian countryside.

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 7: The Thousand Lingas River

Journey north to Kbal Spean, the original "Thousand Lingas River" to experience a short jungle trek in the Angkor area to reach the river carvings.
Head to Banteay Srei, Angkor’s ultimate art gallery. This petite pink temple is the cherry on top of Angkor-era sculpture. 
On the way back to Siem Reap, visit the Cambodia Landmine Museum.
This evening, enjoy a classical dance performance of the most popular Cambodian dances.

Day 8: The Beautiful Angkor Temples

This morning, head for Ta Prohm and the giant Takeo pyramid, one of the highest temples in the area.
Walk to what was the first Buddhist monastery in Cambodia, Banteay Kdei, and explore its extensive corridors and elegant sculptures. Then visit the royal bathing pond in Sra Srang. After lunch at the Khmer Sala Kdei traditional house, go to the immense fortified city of Angkor Thom, the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII.
Begin with the Terrace of the Leper King, continuing along the Terrace of Elephants and the Baphuon, one of the most beautiful temples in Angkor.
Enjoy dinner at Chanrey Tree restaurant.

Day 9: Angkor Wat Sunrise and Siem Reap Pagodas

Rising at the crack of dawn, journey to the mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Enjoy a picnic breakfast as well as a good luck blessing from a senior monk.
As the crowds return to their hotels, enjoy its magnificence in peace, beginning with the bas-reliefs telling tales from Hindu mythology and the victories of the Khmer empire.

Spend the rest of the day in the historic pagodas of Siem Reap. Start with the modern pagoda of Wat Thmei, and continue to Wat Preah Inkosei. Next you'll visit the temple of Wat Bo, one of the most important pagodas in Siem Reap.

After an aunthentic restaurant lunch, visit the old royal palace compound of Wat Dam Nak, converted into a place of learning with its Centre of Khmer Studies; then travel to a fusion temple in Wat Athvea.
This evening, dinner is at the La Noria Restaurant, which hosts an evening of Cambodian shadow puppetry, as well as some popular Cambodian dances.
