Day 1: Arrival in Tirana

Once arrived at the airport, our agent will be there waiting to take you to your hotel. Depending on arrival time you might also start to explore the city or join an afternoon/evening yoga class or massage session to relax after the long flight.

Day 2: Fishte – Shkoder

Today you will head north of Albania. On the way there you will stop to have lunch at the "Mrizi i Zanave" restaurant located in the village of Fishta to taste local products and typical dishes of northern Albania. You will have the opportunity to have a tour at the farm too.

In the afternoon you will leave for Shkodra, founded more than 2000 years ago. Shkodra is one of the oldest cities and the perfect example of the harmony between the three main religions in Albania: Islam, Catholicism and Orthodoxy.  The city is home to the Great Mosque (built in 1995) and also a Catholic cathedral, St Stephen's Cathedral, where Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass during his visit in 1993. Then you join the Rozafa fortress. This fortress represents an Albanian legend and offers a breathtaking view of the city, rivers and surroundings.

Dinner recommended at the traditional restaurant "Tradita", tasting typical dishes of the region.

Tirana to Fishte, 1h 45min: Wine and food tasting at “Mrizi i Zanave” restaurant. Tour of the farm. Tasting of locally grown products and typical dishes of northern Albania.

Fishte to Shkodra, 40 mi: Visit of Shkodra. Tour of the Rozafa fortress to discover the legend behind its building. Dinner at a traditional restaurant.

Day 3: Kruje - Agritourism Huqi - Durres

You visit the town of Kruja today, located less than an hour away from Tirana. Kruja is known as the hometown of Skanderbeg, a 15th century Albanian leader, considered as our national hero for his fight against the Ottoman Empire. You will have the opportunity to learn more about this great leader by visiting the museum which was named after him, “Skanderbeg Museum”. The ethnographic museum is also an opportunity to discover the local culture, lifestyle and family traditions. Finally, you can have a stroll between the stalls of the old bazaar located on a charming square with cobbled streets: ideal to pick some souvenirs!

Then you will head in direction of Durres. Before you reach the city, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch at the “Agritourism Huqi” restaurant, a place located in this small paradise in the heart of the village of Rade, near Cape of Rodoni. A beautiful place where you will find local grown vegetables and fruits, but above all a relaxing environment, which will immensely satisfy all your senses, especially the taste.

In the afternoon, you will visit the city of Durres. In the antiquity Durres was as an important city, especially for merchants, since it was the beginning of the Egnatia Road, which connected Rome to Constantinople. Nowadays, the city is the main port of the country. You should visit its steep streets near the Amphitheatre and the archaeological museum, which will allow you to discover the history of this commercial town.

Dinner at a seaside restaurant to enjoy fish and seafood.

Shkoder to Kruja, 1h 20min: Kruja town. Visit of the castle, old bazaar and town. Kruja castle, Old Bazaar.

Kruje to Rade, 1h: Tasting typical dishes of the region at “Agritourism Huqi”.

Rade to Durres, 20min: Visit of the Amphitheatre and of the archaeological museum.

Day 4: Cobo Winery - Berat

You will discover today an Albanian city, on the UNESCO list for its characteristic architecture: The city of Berat. Before you reach Berat, you will stop by the winery "Cobo" to taste Albanian wines. Best known as "The city of 1000 windows" you will be charmed by its white houses and steep streets that offer you a special promenade. During the visits, you will have lunch at a restaurant of the region to taste traditional food. While walking around, you will see the castle, many mosques in the citadel, the Onufri National Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Durres to Berat, 1h 30min: Wine tasting at Cobo’s Winery. Visit of the castle, mosques in the citadel, the National Museum and the Ethnographic Museum. Traditional food tasting.

Day 5: Gjirokaster

Today you will drive in the direction of Gjirokaster. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005, this city is full of distinctive districts and shaded terraces. But its main touristic sites are the ethnographic museum and its citadel, which will take us back in time, years ago, through the history of Albania. Gjirokastra is one of the cities that has retained its characteristic “old Albanian houses” architecture. After the visits you will have lunch at a restaurant of the region to taste traditional food. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6: Blue Eye Spring – Isak Winery - Butrint – Sarande

After Gjirokastra, you will visit the Blue Eye (Syri i kalter). It is a source of water that resembles a blue eye. It is an ideal place to stop for a short time and discover this natural beauty. Before you reach Saranda, you will have the opportunity to visit Isak Winery, located in Vrion. This small vineyard will offer you a great experience in tours of wine tasting. You will have lunch in a fish restaurant in Saranda and later on you visit the site of Butrint, which is near the Greek border. Butrint is an ancient Greek city on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1992. You will discover a historic landmark, an open ancient city testifying of centuries of human occupation.

In the afternoon you will drive back to the coastal city of Saranda, where you can enjoy the promenade of the city and the several fish restaurants.

Gjirokaster to Isak Winery, 1h: Wine tasting. Isak Winery to Butrint, 45min: Visit of the archaeologic site of Butrint.

Day 7: Uka Farm - Tirane

Today you will return to Tirana. Before you reach the capital, you will stop by the UKA Farm, about 8 km near Tirana, in the village of Laknas to experience fresh bio food right from the farm! This is a two acres farm including the restaurant, vineyard and the winery where the family produces the wine. The open-air restaurant is set in the middle of a farm and provides a unique opportunity to taste and enjoy the local products.

​A city since 1614 and the capital of Albania since 1920, Tirana is the country's main cultural hub. You will be able to discover a city famous for the colorful facades of its buildings and the harmony between the various religions in the country. The visit of the National Museum located on Skanderbeg Square will be a nice introduction to the rich Albanian history!

Close to this square, you will be able to see the mosque "Et'hem Bey", which has been preserved even during the communist era for its historical value, the opera, the clock tower and the palace of culture. You discover then the pyramid (the Museum of the former dictator, Enver Hoxha), the superb Orthodox Cathedral as well as the Catholic Cathedral. Not to forget to also discover the busy nightlife with numerous bars and restaurants!


Day 8: Last day of our trip to Albania!
