Kitesurf the Indian Ocean

Thanks to generally calm waters and warm weather, Zanzibar is the perfect setting for kitesurfing. Although there are good spots for pros to hit the surf, gentle currents and small waves make many of Zanzibar's beaches ideal destinations for beginners.

Not sure where to start? Make your way to Unguja, Zanzibar's largest island, and head to the small seaside village of Paje. You'll know you're in the right place when you spot the kitesurfing sails fluttering along the beach. A gentle, constant wind blows over this part of the island, always moving in the same direction.
