Upon arrival at Maun international Airport, you will be met by an English-speaking representative, who will assist you to check-in for the light aircraft flight to the heart of the Chobe National Park, on the Savuti channel. Light Aircraft flight from Maun Airport to Camp Savuti airstrip.
Stretching from the Linyanti River all the way to Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have pumped life into the western section of Chobe National Park for thousands of generations. However, this fickle and unpredictable channel has a fascinating history of flooding and drying up, independently of good rainy seasons and flood levels elsewhere. The Savute region and the Savute Marsh in particular, is renowned for its intense predator encounters and exceptional game viewing making it one of Botswana’s most popular wildlife destinations.
Overnight at Camp Savuti, in a Meru Tent, inclusive of all meals, scheduled safari activities, drinks (including soft drinks, water, beers, select wines and select spirits) laundry, Government taxes and levies, transfers and park entry fees.
You have the next two days to explore the Savuti chancel and marsh with your dedicated ranger.
Adventures on offer include morning and evening game drives which are conducted in open-top 4x4 vehicles bringing you closer to the thrill of getting close to top predators and to watch them in their natural habitat. The Savuti is famous for lion and elephant interactions and is known as one of the best places in Africa to view both species. Enjoy coffee stops in the mornings and scenic sundowners in the evenings, guided by knowledgeable rangers, and don't forget your camera!

Tumbling out of the Angolan highlands two rivers converge to form the Okavango river, which spills itself onto the great sea of sand that is Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. An average of 10 million cubic metres of water annually floods 15,000 sq. km of Kalahari, forming the world-famous Okavango Delta, largest inland delta in the world. The contrast of desert and wetland is what makes the Okavango unique, and fosters the bewildering variety of life that it supports.
This intimate and informal safari camp nestles on a small island, close to the south western edge of Chief's island. Delta Camp overlooks the Boro, one of the primary watercourses of the Okavango.
The camp's chalets are designed and built to take advantage of the many indigenous, old-growth trees of the island forest. The buildings cannot improve upon the natural landscape; they must therefore blend into it as unobtrusively as possible. This sometimes means that a tree grows through a roof or a floor, it always means that you will find no glass in our windows, and it very often means that the building itself is elevated onto a deck, to minimize our disturbance of the earth and vegetation below. We import the bare minimum – locally grown reed and grass are our principal means of construction where feasible. Where it is not, we use easily removable canvas. Our furniture is locally made from, wherever possible, locally grown material.
We support local artists and artisans. Each chalet is en-suite with hot and cold running water, a shower with a view, a variety of beds and areas in which to relax, mosquito netting and solar-powered electric lighting. The chalets are situated around the property to take advantage of the views of the surrounding bush and floodplains.

You will spend a whole two days with your professional and knowledgeable, private game ranger.
Enjoy the luxury of your own private guide, who is local – born and raised in the area. Your day will be spent in his mokoro, gliding through the floodplains and channels, and walking under his guidance on some of the many islands in the area, taking in the magnificent scenery and light as well as the abundant game and birdlife of the Okavango.

With a stunning location overlooking the waterhole, each of the 8 very spacious suites has a bedroom, separate lounge area, en-suite bathroom with Victorian bath and outdoor shower. The lodge boasts a swimming pool, several indoor and outdoor areas in which to relax and dine and, in a nod to the remoteness of the location, wireless internet delivered by satellite.
Overnight at Deception Valley Lodge, in a Suite, inclusive of all meals, beverages, laundry, Government taxes and Levies (except stated otherwise), park fees, Inter-camp flights and transfers & safari activities.
These two day, the Deception Valley will reveal the fascinating world of the Kalahari, the “waterless oasis”.
Activities are varied. The Reserve’s extensive network of tracks make for perfect day and night driving terrain. The Kalahari sand offers excellent opportunities for tracking Kalahari lion and leopard and where your guide can follow off road as this is a private game reserve. Deception Valley is also a bird lover’s paradise.
The lodge also offers a highly acclaimed Bushman (San) experience. ‘Braam’ Badenhorst, one of the owners, grew up in the Kalahari with the San and several of his friends live on the reserve and are available to show guests the way they used to live and survive. Walk through a terrain that appears to the uninitiated to offer little in the way of sustenance, but is a treasuretrove of fruits, berries, tubers, barks, herbs and flowers used in cooking, medicine, ceremonies and for a plethora of other purposes. All this before we turn to the mammals, birds, reptiles and insects that form part of the fascinating panoply of their desert world.
Overnight for these two days at Deception Valley Lodge, in a Suite, inclusive of all meals, beverages, laundry, Government taxes and Levies (except stated otherwise), park fees, transfers & safari activities.
