Apart from being a famous Argentinian brand of water, Villavicencio is also a natural reserveabout 50km from Mendoza.

My suggestion:
To get a great view of the Villavicencio Valley, head towards El Balcón, in the heart of the reserve. You may even get to spot some Andean condors!
My review

Villavicencio is the Argentine equivalent of France's Evian. Situated in the heart of the Andean Cordillera, at around 50km from Mendoza, Villavicencio is home to natural springs as well a former thermal spa resort.

During the 30's, the Argentine bourgeoisie would descend in droves to the exclusive thermal spa at Villavicencio and benefit from its mineral rich hot springs. The hotel/spa was partly bought by the Danone Group and although it's closed today, it's due to re-open in 2017. In the meantime, you can tour its pretty gardens and enjoy some lovely views of the Andean Cordillera.

Other interesting sights in the Villavicencio Natural Reserve include the Canota ruins, a site on the route taken by General San Martin and his army in 1817 whilst on their way to liberate Chile. There's also Cruz de Paramillos, a Jesuit cross, at an altitude of 3,200m.
