Lying at the extreme south of the planet, the Antarctic Peninsula is an incredibly beautiful place to explore.

My suggestion:
It is not possible to get to the peninsula by yourself, so consider finding out about the various trips available and the routes they take well beforehand.
My review

Few sights I've visited have impressed me as much as these immense expanses of water and ice did. I arrived here from the city of Ushuaïa onboard a boat taking a group of tourists to the site. It's quite an expensive trip, but the amazing things that await you at the other end make it a price worth paying.

I'll never forget the pristine purity of this sparse landscape at the very edge of the world: the splendour of the raw, wild nature here. I particularly enjoyed sailing amongst the hundreds of islets there are around the peninsula, skirting the edge of the ice field, and stopping to trace the steps of the first explorers. I also had the opportunity to see seals, elephant seals, penguins and humpback whales, proving that a rich variety of life exists even in the most hostile environments to man.
