500 km from El Calafate is La Cueva de las Manos, one of the most interesting archaeological sites in Argentina.

My suggestion:
Just like Talampaya and Ischigualasto, it's a difficult place to get to. You have to organise yourself well in advance, or just stop by if you happen to be passing.
My review

La Cueva de las Manos is an archaeological site that is a very well known tourist attraction in Argentina, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

However, few visitors manage to find it. Its wonderful cave paintings are hidden in the canyon of the Rio Pinturas. But it is really difficult to get there. La Cueva de las Manos is not close to anywhere and is difficult to get to. But in the end that means the site is not subject to mass tourism and so has not lost any of its original beauty. The nearest big town is El Calafate which is 500 km away!

Unless you have lots of time to spare I don't recommend you coming here unless you are already in the area - if, for example, you happen to be travelling along the legendary Ruta 40.
