An adorable little seaside port, Fethiye is a nice destination to head for on the Mediterranean coast if you want to spend a little time taking things easy and relaxing.
My suggestion:
A few kilometers away lies the ghost town of Kayaköy, with its thousands of abandoned stone houses. These were left intact as a reminder of the population exchange that took place between Turkey and Greece.
My review
Fethiye has not exactly been unfortunate in terms of location: the city lies in a Mediterranean bay and sits on a rugged stretch of coastline facing out over turquoise waters and dotted with private little coves. The town, which has a population of around 60,000, has not always been favored by nature however: in the 1950s it was completely razed by an earthquake that left virtually nothing standing. It's therefore probably best to be honest and admit that, despite Fethiye's wonderful location, it no longer contains much that is old and historical.

Fethiye is a coastal resort in southeast Turkey offering a flavor of the Orient combined with a touch of the West: a perfect mixture, and one that attracts Europeans in large numbers.
My suggestion:
I really liked the pedestrian street along the seafront, with all its little cafes, restaurants and tea salons. The tea in Turkey, by the way, is delicious, especially the apple variety – a local specialty.
My review
When I went to Turkey, I really wasn't expecting to find it had such a deeply ingrained touch of the European about it. This is especially true of Fethiye, with the city being so popular with tourists. Because I'd been hoping for a little more exoticism, this is something that did disappoint me a little. However, I have to admit that I did actually really enjoy the city of Fethiye.

Located on the Mediterranean coast, this charming port city is highly appreciated by western holiday makers. Less "bling-bling” than Bodrum, Fethiye is perfect for a few days of rest.
My suggestion:
Don't forget your beach bag, Fethiye is particularly popular for its waterfront.
My review
A pleasant getaway in Fethiye where I had the pleasure of discovering a lively city. With a nice port, the city charms you with its numerous restaurants and cafés on the waterfront. In Fethiye, you will have the pleasure of swimming in the fantastic waters and relax on the beaches with fine sand.
If you stay in the city, don't hesitate to vary your schedule. Leaving tourist roads allows you to discover spots that are slightly more authentic and take pretty photographs. History lovers will enjoy the tombs carved in the mountain walls, at the top of the city. Keep an eye out for land turtles along your way!
Also, it's possible to get to Ölüdeniz from Fethiye. The beach there is deemed to be sensational. A few kilometres away from Fethiye, you can discover Kayaköy, a ghost town emptied of its inhabitants after population transfers between Greece and Turkey. Finally, Fethiye is a traffic hub. Therefore it is easy to proceed with your trip to Turkey by choosing one of the numerous destinations proposed by the Turkish bus companies.
