Xanthos is a famous ancient city, just outside the contemporary town of Kinik, which is worth a visit during a trip to Turkey.

My suggestion:
Lots of its archaeological treasures can be seen in the British Museum in London, including some reconstructed temples.
My review
A legendary ancient city, Xanthos was the capital of Lycia. It has been destroyed several times during its history, and at one point all of its inhabitants committed suicide. Nowadays, Xanthos is a pleasant place with some beautiful ruins, like its amphitheater, some tombs, and some mosaics. In addition, the rare number of visitors and the vegetation which covers everything, only add to the charm of the place which, although its not the most impressive old city in the country, is one of the most charming.
