A typical example of mass tourism in Turkey, the only things on offer in Alanya are its holiday resorts, nightclubs and over crowded beaches.

My suggestion:
Even so, if you do find yourself in Alanya, there are a few worthy sites, the impressive fortress that overlooks the town being a prime example.
My review

It's hard to imagine, as you march along Alanya's streets, that this concrete jungle was once a small, quaint fishing village. The arrival of mass tourism, largely thanks to package holidays, has changed Turkey for the worst in some ways. You now find cheap, hastily built complexes designed for only one thing - making money. It's a far cry from responsible tourism.

When I arrived at Alanya, there was only one thing I wanted to do. Leave. Immediately. Western tourists divide their time between the beach, the pool, the nightclubs, tacky gift shops and the concrete town centre. There are plenty of better ways to have a great time in Turkey !
