A minuscule village in Cappadocia, Cavusin is a superb example of a deserted troglodytic village built in a cliff.
My suggestion:
For the ultimate romantic night, you can stay in the troglodytic caves on the summit of the old town.
My review
A beautiful troglodytic village in the heart of Cappadocia, Cavusin was built into a rocky hillside that nowadays looks like a sort of strange, abandoned ant heap, with lots of holes dug into the white rock. Apart from being a typical village of the region, Cavusin has very little to offer: a few tourist shops and one or two restaurants. The rest of this minuscule village is sleepy and not very interesting.

Approximately 3km from Goreme, Cavusin, a village of stone, is known to have the oldest troglodyte church in Cappadocia.
My suggestion:
After visiting Goreme, take the road to Avanos and on the way stop at Cavusin. The visit is quick but worth the detour.
My review
Cappadocia is, in my opinion a region which must be discovered on foot, but also by car. The villages are very close to each other and always offer different views.
According to the owner of the inn at Goreme, where I was staying, the Christians, persecuted by the Romans in the 1st century A.D., dug caves into the Cavusin rocks and took refuge there, later to install a centre of study for Christianity in the region.
This is the reason we are able to visit the troglodyte church of St John the Baptist, beautifully preserved for its age!
The detour past Cavusin to me is obligatory if you have transport but remains a detour. Goreme and Avanos are sites that you can spend more time visiting, in contrast to Cavusin, apart from its churches, it does not have much to offer tourists.
