The pretty town of Eğirdir is located in Turkey's Lakes Region and stands on a narrow peninsula surrounded by impressive natural scenery. Lying on the road between Cappadocia and Pamukkale, it is an ideal place to spend a relaxing break

My suggestion:
Be sure to hike up to the local lookout point. The waymarked path leading to it has information boards along it describing the local plants and wildlife. The breathtaking panoramic views you get at the top will be ample reward you for the effort taken to get there.
My review

We found Eğirdir to be a charming place, and that was from the very first moment we set eyes on it. It has to be said that the physical location of this spit of land, with turquoise-coloured water all around it, cannot fail to impress.

Our surprise encounter with a tortoise and a fox on the way into the town simply made our visit to this little corner of Turkey all that more memorable. We hadn't expected to encounter so much nature and wildlife so close to a town.

Eğirdir is not a particularly touristy place. This makes it the perfect town to visit if you want to experience what everyday life is like in Turkey (which you can do at the market, in the cafés or on the banks of the lake for example). The relaxed, peaceful atmosphere to be found at these places made it possible for us to meet and talk to plenty of the local inhabitants. We even happened upon a wedding celebration taking place!
