Twyfelfontein is a very lovely site,  not to be missed during a trip to Namibia , that has superb rock etchings dating back 2000 to 2500 years, that you can discover in the course of a lovely walk.

<p>When you are <a href="/namibia/"> southbound in Namibia </a>, towns become scarcer and distances longer. As such, <strong> Keetmanshoop is a godsend </strong> for those who happen to be in that region. I arrived at Keetmanshoop at night as I spent the last hours of the setting sun walking through Quiver Forest, a sublime aloe vera forest located just <strong>9 ml north of Keetmanshoop </strong> that has become a Namibian national monument. </p> <p>At sunset, the trees are silhouetted against the starry sky, sublime!</p> <p>Worth the detour is another site right next to it, Giant's Playground, a heap of boulders that seem to have been placed there by giants! </p> <p>As always in Namibia, the town serves mainly to stock up on supplies before continuing on your way. There is nevertheless a lovely church and a museum to see. </p>
