Japan's capital, Tokyo is one of the world's biggest metropolises and will unavoidably constitute an important stopping place for any traveller visiting the country.

My suggestion:
Do not hesitate to reserve several days, or even a whole week to take the time to visit Tokyo for the city's many areas offer varied and contrasting atmospheres. Do not miss out on the delectable and succulent local cooking!
My review

In my opinion, Tokyo is among the cities to which all qualifying adjectives and superlatives can be applied. Immense, incredible, surprising, charming, striking... and that's not all. I would also add that, unlike some of its Asian counterparts, Tokyo is a swarming capital, but not an intrusive one. By this I mean the strong impression the city leaves of its ability to offer atmospheres that are as diverse as they are contrasting.

I was in particular marked by the post-modern vision reflected by the sinful aura of the Akihabara area, temple of new technology with its countless illuminated screens, and the trendy areas of Shibuya or again Ginza.

However, not far from there, just a few underground stations away, this gives way to the old Tokyo with its authenticity and its traditions, especially in the areas of Asakusa (a visit to Senso-Ji temple is not to be missed) and the small, narrow, discreet lanes of Kagurazaka. If the contrast has not struck you yet, then wander over to the Harajuku area to catch a glimpse of the avant-garde of Japanese culture and the "cosplays" teenagers!
