This desert is bewildering with its dark colours, quite unlike your usual desert.

My suggestion:
Don't forget your sunglasses, sun cream, a hat, as well as a jumper and a torch for when it gets dark!
My review

The colour of the Black Desert is due to mountain erosion. Effectively, the sand and rocks are more or less black; the dominance of this colour is indisputable. The rocks are made from "dolerite", a volcanic rock which gives this place itsunique colour.

During your trip to Egypt, you'll be able to tower above the Black Desert by ascending the English Mountain, the highest point in the desert. Thus, you'll have an unrestricted view over. This is a must-see, so pit-stop there. However, it's offered on almost all group excursions, so don't be surprised if you are swarmed when reaching this point. The Black Desert seemed even more impressive to me after having been to the White Desert.
