A national park situated on the conflux of the Drava and the Danube Kopacki Rit is one of Europe's largest wetlands and is a paradise for nature lovers.

My suggestion:
Avoid the winter when the park is a little less impressive and the animals are scarce.
My review

Located to the north of Osijek, Kopacki Rit National Park is an unbelievable protected reserve that covers the zone of confluence between the Drava and the Danube. Situated on the border between Serbia and Croatia (not very far from Hungary in the north), I visited Osijek with a local association which organises tours in the park. After a few hours there, we had the opportunity to observe an incredible number of wild animals in an incredibly wild setting, including eagles, wild boar and even deer.

One of the highlights of the day was a boat trip on the Danube and a stop off at some deserted islands on the river. If you visit the area during your stay in Croatia, don't forget to try the local speciality of paprika fish, a Danube fish stew cooked in a paprika-based soup. You might also come across the same recipe with game.
