Stari Grad (literally translated as "Old City") is a beautiful place situated on the island of Hvar and comes to life in the summer.

My suggestion:
If I had the choice, I would recommend avoiding the town during the summer months when it seems to bounce to the rhythm of clubbers and other party-goers who come to Hvar in their droves.
My review

While Stari Grad is a thoroughly charming city, with its narrow, cobbled, and medieval streets, incredible historical sites, marina, and pebble beaches with clear water, I found that the place had lost some of its charm with the arrival of mass tourism on the island of Hvar. One of the most beautiful Croatian islands, Hvar has become one of Europe's summer festival capitals in recent years, attracting party-goers from around the world.

But this has had an impact on the town: towering tourist resorts, lots of discos and nightclubs, frenetic activity, hundreds of tourist shops and high prices (especially in Hvar town, not so much in Stari Grad). If you want to discover this beautiful city while on holiday, here's a tip: come in the autumn or spring when temperatures are still mild and the place isn't heaving.
