I didn't spend long in Omišwhen I was visiting Croatia, but it was long enough to be impressed by its wonderful natural location. The small town of Omiš is located next to the sea at the foot of a steep mountain, which, if you are prepared to venture up to the top, has quite magnificent views to offer; though it is an exhausting climb … believe me!
As well as the beautiful beaches there are to be found in the local area, Omiš also has white-water sports to offer, e.g. kayaking and rafting. I actually got the chance to go rafting myself down the Cetina River, and with all the amazing gorges it takes you through and the generally wonderful nature of the local environment, it was a memorable experience. If the thought of descending the river in a raft is not something that tempts you, there is also a walking trail that follows the course of the river and along which there are beautiful views of the gorges down below and the region's craggy landscape to be had.
