An idyllic honeymoon in Thailand

In Thailand you can make taking it easy, culture and nature all part of your honeymoon. Right from the north to the south of the country, there are basically many destinations ideal for getting away from it all and experiencing a holiday with a difference.

With its varied landscapes, Thailand has much to offer.

Northern Thailand, a traditionally authentic destination for tourists

Chiang Mai is one of the most quintessentially Thai cities in the country, far removed from the wonderful beaches of Southern Thailand. But if you are looking for nature and an experience of the real Thailand, this is the place to go!

It's easy to hire a motorbike for the day and head off as a couple to tour the surrounding countryside ! You will be get to experience the real Thailand in the small and typically Thai villages to be found there.

After that, head to Bangkok, the country's prosperous capital and a city which never sleeps: an essential place to see when visiting Thailand. The main area tourists head for is Khaosan Road, the perfect place for a night out and therefore very noisy. If you are on honeymoon, why not enjoy a pleasurable stay in the chic area instead, in one of Bangkok's tower hotels, which offer superb views over the city?

The Thai islands: wonderful scenery and landscapes

The south of the country is especially famous for its idyllic beaches, rock formations and turquoise waters. Some of the islands, such as those around Phuket, really receive too many visitors, but there are other places to go for more peace and quiet, such as Koh Lanta and Koh Samui. The best thing to do is head first for Krabi then travel around the south of the country.

The island of Koh Yao Yai, halfway between Phuket and Krabi, has not yet become too touristy and is worth a trip to see: it has beautiful beaches, little infrastructure and no mass tourism. The region of Khao Lak, further to the north, is also a quiet, peaceful area, and an ideal place to spend a honeymoon in Thailand.

For those not intending to travel to the south of the country, Pattaya is the closest coastal resort to Bangkok. It is not the best place in which to find quiet privacy or as a destination for a romantic trip, but it is somewhere to go to enjoy the beach a little if that isn't the main purpose of your trip!
