Lying entirely within the huge country of South Africa, Lesotho is a mountainous land, and not easy to get to. To visit it is to experience the real, authentic Africa.

My suggestion:
If your time is limited, an off-road vehicle will be essential due to the chaotic state of the roads. Why not consider staying for longer and visiting Lesotho by horseback?
My review

During my trip to South Africa, I sometimes felt as if I was actually in Europe or Australia. The buildings in the cities don't really match the traditional image we have of Africa, so to speak.

If, like me, you feel that need for authenticity, for an experience of the real Africa, then I have no hesitation in recommending a few days in this so unfamiliar country to you. This "Kingdom in the Sky", as it's also known (its lowest point lies at an elevation of 1400 metres), offers absolutely magnificent mountain landscapes extending as far as the eye can see. The harsh climate at altitude will encourage you to adopt the local practice of simply wrapping yourself up in a large blanket.

In summary, though Lesotho can seem a difficult place to get to, this may just be a way to protect this little paradise from mass tourism.
