La mer d'Emeraude (Madagascar)

The fishermen of the area will be happy to take you to explore this sea within a sea, a meeting between the Indian Ocean and the Mozambique Channel. Once you are aboard a barge on the way there, you can distinctly see that the water is an emerald green colour thanks to its shallowness and the sand...a heavenly moment during your exploration of Madagascar!

From there, you can admire the shoals of manta rays, the turtles or the flying fish. A snorkel will be enough to observe the coral for clown fish, giant clams, cowries...

Babaomby peninsula encloses the emerald sea and is a paradise for kite- and wind-surfers. It's one of the rare places in the country where you can see a primary forest with its majestic baobabs come right down to the edge of the sea.
