Reviews of Reykjavik

The capital of the country is not a city like the others, with 2/3 of the population concentrated in the centre and the surrounding area. It is the northernmost capital in the world and especially an essential part of any trip to Iceland.

My suggestion:
Ideally, set aside 2 or 3 days to take advantage of Reykjavik. If you like design, music or sports, why not visit the city during one of the many festivals held throughout the year, such as the famous Iceland Airwaves.
My review

Like many Scandinavian cities, Reykjavik possesses characteristic warmth and charm.

The first time I set foot in the city, I immediately fell under the charm of its houses with colourful facades, its well-kempt fishing port, its beautiful lake which borders the city centre, its dozens of designer boutiques, each more creative than the other, its restaurants, which offer the best of Icelandic cuisine, its museums, which present the past, the present and the future of the island, but especially of the casual and eclectic atmosphere of its bars, between Icelandic concerts and local beer!

In addition to being a cultural city, many activities are organised out of Reykjavik, the most common being visits to the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon. As for me, I prefer to stay in the city to enjoy its atmosphere and to get away from the crowd.

There's nothing better a stroll through the city to discover all this and to take advantage of a human-size, lively and warm capital.
