Skógafoss is a magnificent waterfall that plunges into a little river surrounded by verdant slopes. The place is very popular because it is located at the foot of the Ring Road, which goes around the island. For me, it is always an unmissable stopping place.
Arriving at Skógafoss, I always stop to admire its wide curtain of water. To avoid the tourists that converge on the area and form colourful clusters, I take the stairs on the right that climb directly to the summit. From there, a magnificent view opens before me as a reward for my efforts. It is possible to prolong the walk along the river. I did, but not very far. I promise that next time I will go to the end—if there is an end!
In any case, there are fewer people there than there are at the bottom!
