I love plunging myself into the heart of old Sartène and losing myself in the maze of its winding alleys. Granite ramparts dominate the valley and they give an imposing character to this group of high, brown and grey facades packed in closely with discreet and confined, sunken passages.
After the visit to Propriano and a great time in the sea, the climb to Sartène (which is only 15 km away) provided me with a lovely change of scenery and a beautiful view over the Valinco Gulf, which I had just left. I was struck by the religious and historic heritage of the town, which hovered over the places like a perfume of incomparable authenticity.
To immerse yourself in life here, consider spending a little time in Liberation Square, where the Sartenais people meet up and local life takes place.
