Stari Grad (literally translated as "Old City") is a beautiful place situated on the island of Hvar and comes to life in the summer.
My suggestion
If I had the choice, I would recommend avoiding the town during the summer months when it seems to bounce to the rhythm of clubbers and other party-goers who come to Hvar in their droves.
