Estancia Harberton is a small haven of peace on the Beagle Channel. Located 52 miles from the city of Ushuaia by road and about 40 miles by sea. Founded in 1886 by a missionary, this typical estancia nestled on the Harberton Bay is surrounded by splendid Patagonian landscapes. The Chilean village of Puerto Williams is across the bay. 
Among the activities offered, you can visit a museum dedicated to sea mammals and the penguins of Patagonia. You can also take a ride on the bay and learn more about the island's ancient Indian communities. But the estancia's main activity is visiting the pinguinera (colony of penguins) on Isla Yécapasela, better known as Martillo Island. To get there, you can climb aboard a catamaran.
