Enchanting islands with penetrating blue waters

Make sure you compare different agencies for travels and excursions, prices vary considerably.
My review

I went to the Similan Islands from Khao Lak. My initial idea was to go scuba diving, but given the stormy climate, I opted for a snorkelling expedition.

I particularly enjoyed the boat trip because I was amongst a dozen passengers, and everyone was in a good mood despite a dark, heavy, unreassuring sky. The arrival to the first island is quite simply magical, the rocks, the colour of the translucent water then a deep blue remains one of the best experiences of my trip to Thailand. The second island was also breathtaking, there was no one else other than us. The Similan Islands genuinely appear like a jewel that is still intact. I liked that there were no infrastructures there, a real taste of the end of the world.

However, I was slightly disappointed by the snorkelling. The guide fed the fish to make the come nearer, which created an unnatural, unpleasant cluster. I decided to part with the group and explore the floors myself. Flocks of fish of thousands of different colours were swimming around me, a real pleasure!

The return was quite epic, the wind and rain made the crossing rather difficult and hectic, a unique experience.
