Discovered by chance, Ban Chiang is one of Thailand's Unesco World Heritage sites where objects tell the story of former inhabitants of this region.

My suggestion:
Do some research just before your visit, you will enjoy it much more.
My review

Ban Chiang might not be as pretty or famous asAyutthaya but it has incredible historical importance. It shows that people lived here during the Neolithic era and that they used metal tools in agriculture (the oldest traces of rice culture of South-East Asia were found here).

Your visit to Ban Chiang can be split in two. The first is a visit to the Ban Chiang National Museum where you'll find remains as well as replicas explaining how the people of this era lived. The second is Wat Pho Si Nai, a few kilometres from the museum, where the first archaeological remains were found and also where you can see graves with their treasures.

If you're not passionate about history, you might not be very excited by archaeological remains, so it's up to you if you wish to make the journey to come here.
