Haad Yao is a white sand beach on the north of the island of Koh Phangan.
My suggestion:
It's not the ideal beach if you're looking for somewhere to swim as the sea is very shallow on this part of the island. At low tide you need to walk further out and it's very rocky in some places.
My review
Haad Yao is a beach on Koh Phangan. It's the beach that is just south of the one where I stayed the last time. Not a lot of difference then, the same relaxed atmosphere, a few restaurants, some resorts and a beach. Perhaps the sand is whiter, but it is less intimate because the beach is larger than Haad Salad.
Haad Yao is good for people traveling with their family but also for those just looking to relax. I was tempted by a massage on the edge of the beach. I tend to prefer a more private atmosphere with relaxing music and fragrances, but a good massage accompanied by the sound of the waves isn't too bad from time to time.
And talking about restaurants, it's on the west coast, so now is the time to spend a romantic moment watching the sun set while eating a delicious meal.
