This desert is smaller than that of Chigaga or Chegigi but the views are just as nice. It is pleasant to spend a night in a bivouac and to follow a walking route from the side of the gorges to get to the green oasis of Taghbalt.
What seemed interesting to me, were the diverse and varied landscapes of this region. You pass from desert made of rock and sand to green oasis with a backdrop of the Atlas mountains. A contrast that I particularly appreciated.
If you have the time, in the surrounding areas, many cave etchings are to be discovered, particularly on the side of Ait Ouazik situated more to the south, one of the most rich sites of the country with engraved stones. A fascinating excursion.
