Reviews of Ouezzane

An industrial town in Northern Morocco, Ouazzane isn't particularly charming at first glance. However, its refurbished Medina and its religious importance could be attractive for some.

My suggestion:
I wouldn't stay in Ouazzane for more than a few hours. The town has barely any facilities for tourists.
My review

The medium-sized town of Ouazzane (with a population of around 50,000 people) is certainly not a sight for sore eyes: industrial, decrepit and with a somewhat sinister atmosphere, you'll no doubt prefer to continue on your way, especially as Ouazzane has few hotels where you can spend the night or restaurants where you can satisfy your hunger. For those who wish to stay there by hook or by crook while on holiday in Morocco, keep in mind that Ouazzane does indeed have a pleasant and historical Medina quarter, or old city, which has recently been restored. Its green mosque has an interesting octagonal minaret. The town's other attractions are more religious. In fact, Ouazzane is the centre of Sufi Order which is very popular in the country.

Admittedly, I wasn't enchanted by the small town of Ouazzane, and I'd personally recommend only stopping there to refuel!
