Azilal is a small, classic town: friendly, unpretentious, where you can stay and eat well for a low price. An alternative to Marrakesh, if you wish to visit the region. I only stayed for a few hours in Azilal, just enough time to browse the souk on Thursday and the craft complex of the town, composed of 18 workshops; two locations to focus on during your trip to Morocco.
To travel around, you will find an abundance of large taxis which will take you to the Ouzoud falls or to Marrakesh. A word of warning, the cars are often crowded and the journey isn't pleasant. Consider renting a car, the trip will be much nicer. Especially as the road to the valley of Aït Bouguemez is in large part tarmac; which is not very common in the High Atlas valleys.
