If you want to observe the daily life of the inhabitants of the Highlands and immerse yourself in the ambiance of a Malagasy village, Iarintsena is the place for you.

My suggestion:
Stay a few days to soak up the atmosphere and ask a local guide to help you discover the region.
My review

Located not far from Ambalavao, famous for its zebu market, Iarintsena is a quiet village where fair tourism projects have been set up by several Malagasy associations. Facilities have been established in the village to accommodate the tourists who come to discover the region and meet its people.

Accompanied by a local guide, you can explore the surrounding area, climb the "Sleeping Woman", a mountain from which there is a magnificent view over the entire region, visit the Anja community reserve located 5 kilometres away, and wander in the sacred forest of Sakaviro. For lovers of extreme sports, paragliding activities are organised from the "Sleeping Woman"!
