Less well known and crowded than the seaside resort of Foulpointe, this small hamlet possesses a large number of particularly beautiful beaches and coves.
The location on the east coast is perfect for swimming and the waters are particularly rich, much to the delight of divers and the local fishermen aboard their sailing pirogues. Mahambo is also a popular place for surfers who come to take advantage of the swell and the beauty of the landscape.
There is a wealth of activities to enjoy: walks in the she-oak forest, fresh fish, an excursion in a pirogue, reading on the beach, in a word: a relaxing hideaway! To get there, take the RN 5 north from Tamatave or book a place in a bush taxi at the bus station for a price that is next to nothing.
