How to get there
Take the direction of Nosy Be.
History gave the bay its name: during the Russo-Japanese War at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Russian fleet used Nosy Be as a rallying point for a large number of its vessels. After many long months in the region and a great deal of drinking, the Russian soldiers suffered a major defeat at the hands of the Japanese fighters. The soldiers have disappeared today, but the bay has kept its name.
Russian Bay offers a perfect postcard landscape. The mangrove trees reflect on the water in a mixture of vibrant colours and its magnificent beaches complete the picture.
