Souvenirs from the carnival capital of the world

So put on your flip flops and sarong...it's time to go shopping, Brazilian style.

Indispensable souvenirs from Brazil

Take home...flip flops! Yep, the famous Havaianas flip flops, which are much cheaper in Brazil; fill your case with as many pairs as you can. And then there's the Brazilian flag. You can also pick up fashionable swimwear and beautiful sarongs. Brazlians produce eye-catching costume jewelry that makes for imaginative and colorful gifts. Arrive home with some Brazilian color on your wrist! And, if you really fell in love with the country, take back a Brazilian flag - they make great wall hangings!

Brazilians know how to party; pack some memories in your bag

Discs and DVDs ranging from forro to funk to brega will keep you in training, but beware of pirated copies as they're illegal. You could give musical friends a Brazilian percussion instrument! Stock up on bottles of cacahça along with all the cocktail necessaries - glasses, masher, shaker and recipe book. Show off your caïpirinha shaking skills to your friends, whilst listening to one of your Brazilian music CDs - they'll love you for having taken themto the carnival capital of world for the evening.

Brazlian food

Brazilian cuisine is a blend of Italian, Argentinian, African and, particularly in the Amazon region, Indian. Although dishes vary from region to region, there are several staples. Feijoada, for example, a delicious black bean and pork stew, served with rice and orange segments. As packing cooked dishes is not really feasible, you can always take home some Brigadeiros, the famous Brazilian chocolate truffles.

Pay hommage to Brazilian soccer

As everyone knows, soccer is King in this country. Any self-respecting Brazilian has their favorite team's jersey in their closet. Do the same and if you don't follow a team, then go for the number worn by Neymar, the famous Brazilian striker.
